Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Louisa Schaad and I’m a 19-year-old travel photographer and travel blogger from Switzerland.
About 10 years ago, I started travelling all around the world with my family and ever since, I’ve fallen in love with discovering and exploring what the world has to offer. I’ve already visited 27 countries (to be exact!) spread across 5 continents.
Time for a quick Q&A!
What are my favourite countries I travelled to?
Although every country has it’s own characteristics and beauty, my favourite country I ever travelled to was Jordan! I travelled there in November 2019, exploring the Wadi Rum Desert, floating in the Dead Sea and seeing Petra, one of the wonders of the world made it one of my most memorable trips ever. I also loved visiting Brazil, Myanmar and China!
What are my top 2 favourite cities to travel to?
Tokyo, Japan is at first place for sure! I love everything about that city, the atmosphere, the people, the food, the culture, what it has to offer,… It’s one of the few cities where I’ve felt completely safe. I went there back in 2017 but I would love to return back there soon! Rio de Janeiro is definitely in my top 2 as well! From its famous beaches to the Christ Redeemer there is so much to do!
How many languages can I speak?
4! Growing up in Switzerland, a country with 4 national languages, it is inevitable to be multilingual. My mother tongue is English, my father tongue is German (and Swiss German), I study in French and I’ve been learning Spanish for 3 years. Fun fact: I also took 3 years of Chinese (Mandarin) lessons, 3 years of Latin and 2 years of ancient Greek lessons!
What’s my dream?
My dream is to travel and share my experiences with the world through my photography and blog. I love to inspire people to travel, discover and make memories around the world.
Where would I like to travel to next?
The list is loaded but if I had to pick a few I would choose Argentina or Costa Rica (I really want to discover more of South America), road trip through the US, Hawaii, Iceland, Thailand, the Dolomites and the Maldives and more!! I hope to visit those places in the next two years or so.
What’s my favourite food?
I am always eager to try new foods when visiting new countries, although it’s hard to choose one favourite, I would say that I absolutely love sushi. I could eat it any day at any time!
What’s my favourite travel quote?
“To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.” ALDOUS HUXLEY
I feel like this quote illustrates perfectly my reason to travel more. You can never trust what other people say about a specific country, you need to go there for yourself and make your own opinion about that place. Often your prejudices are completely false.
A fun travel experience?
Crossing the border from South Korea to North Korea! It was definitely a thrilling and unforgettable moment! Now I can say that I’ve been to North Korea even though it was only for a couple of minutes haha!
A place I’d like to live in the future?
My top two places are Los Angeles and New York City! Los Angeles for its vibrant atmosphere and beach and New York City because I’ve always wanted to live in a busy city full of skyscrapers!
What’s on the top of my Bucket List?
I really want to learn how to surf, I would love to go on an open-door helicopter ride over New York City and see the Northern Lights!
